Looking Forward: 2022 Social Media Success

With 2021 coming to a close, we’re all looking into plans for 2022. If you’re looking to improve your social media game for your business then today is the day to get started.

Maybe you’ve never used social media for your business and you’re worried you don’t know what you’re doing. Maybe you have used social media for your business and you’re worried you don’t know what works.

That’s alright.

You don’t need to be a social media expert in order to have success in using social media for your business. You just need to prepare and be ready to learn. Below are some helpful tips and resources to help set yourself up for success in 2022.

⭐️ Research
This is one of the most important action steps for setting yourself up for success. Research as much as you can about any questions you might have about social media. Look at data from your social media over the last year. Look at the social media of competitors or similar businesses.

Research strategies for using social media to achieve your business goals. If you don’t know where to start, try a few blogs or social media news sources to see what current topics are and go from there.
The Ugly Mug Marketing blog and Facebook Business News are great places to start.
Use Facebook Ads Library to view ads that other businesses are running.

⭐️ Plan
Once you’ve read up on the latest in social media and reviewed any of your own/your competitors’ social media, it’s time to start planning out what you’re going to post. Use what you’ve learned to plan what you’ll do for your business’s social media, as well as how and when you’ll share it. Start with the first week of the new year and plan out exactly what you want to share and on what platforms. Then do that again and again until you have the first month planned out.

⭐️ Create
Now that you have a plan in place for what you’re going to share, you’ll need to create the content. This can be daunting to a lot of people, but there are a lot of resources out there to help you. It’s important to remember that you’re a business owner and not a graphic designer. Not everything has to look like it took 10 hours to make in Photoshop. If graphics are involved, it can be simple. You can even use premade templates and change them up to match what you’re sharing. What’s important is that the message gets across.

  • Canva – This is a wonderful free resource for creating graphics for social media use. Very user-friendly and full of assets and templates you can use to make your social media pop.
  • Grammarly – this is a great free resource for tuning up your copywriting skills.
  • Clipchamp – for videos, this is a great option that is as user-friendly as Canva.

⭐️ Schedule
You’ve got everything that you want to share on your business’s social media created. The next step is going to be actually sharing it with the world. You could post each piece of content on the day that you plan to. But, you’ll likely forget to one day or be so busy that you simply don’t have time to keep up. The best way around this is to schedule it out ahead of time. Most social media platforms offer a post/ad scheduling feature. You’ll save yourself a lot of time and a lot of stress by doing this. Social media management platforms offer another option for scheduling and managing all social media platforms. Hootsuite and Sprout are two popular options.

⭐️ Repeat
You’ve done it! You’re 2022 is off to a great start. The next step is to repeat the process. Do this each week, month, quarter, or however, often your heart desires. Be sure to be intentional and be consistent. That’s the only way you’ll be able to keep up and see the best success possible for your business.
