{"id":661,"date":"2023-01-02T14:53:03","date_gmt":"2023-01-02T14:53:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uglymugmarketing.com\/blog\/?p=661"},"modified":"2023-01-02T14:53:03","modified_gmt":"2023-01-02T14:53:03","slug":"same-standards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uglymugmarketing.com\/blog\/same-standards\/","title":{"rendered":"Same Standards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Having the Same Standards as Leaders\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RmtiLWT9VVw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u200a<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do you hold yourself to the same standard, to the same expectation that you hold your team to?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chances are that you don&#8217;t.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As leaders, we often give ourselves a pass, right?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We believe because we&#8217;re the founder, we&#8217;re the owner, we&#8217;re the leader, whatever it may be, that we don&#8217;t have to live up to the same expectations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And here&#8217;s the interesting thing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We judge ourselves, each of us, we judge ourselves based on our intentions, and yet we judge other people, based on their actual actions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We judge ourselves on our intentions and them on their actions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So when we see them not doing the thing they said they&#8217;re gonna do, we judge them based on that.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But when we don&#8217;t do the thing that we said we were gonna do, we don&#8217;t judge ourselves on that.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We judge ourselves on the fact that we intended to, but maybe something else came up.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So we need to learn to give team members grace.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We need to learn to also remember that they are gonna judge us based on our actions, not what we intended to do.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So we have to hold ourselves as leaders to the highest standard.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can do this.
