If I Started Over

One of the questions I get asked all the time is, “Wayne, if you were starting over, what would you do differently? What would you do to grow your business more rapidly?” 

Here’s the thing that I would do. 

I would start by making a list of the 100 ideal customers, ideal clients that I would wanna serve. And then I would look and see what problems they’re experiencing that my services could help them solve, help them overcome.

And then what I would do is I’d find a way to demonstrate. Actually demonstrate how my services will solve that problem. 

So let’s say I’m a copywriter and I find my clients, I make a list of the clients I would love to serve, I then go to their website and I look and I evaluate the copy and I say, “you know what?”  the copy’s not great here. 

So I’m gonna write, I’m gonna rewrite the homepage for them. I’m gonna show them, I’m gonna give them exactly what I would say and how I would say it. And I’m gonna explain to them why making these copy changes will drastically increase their conversion rate on the homepage. 

So that’s exactly what I would do if I were starting over. I would build the list of top 100 and I’d work through it, helping them solve the problems that they have.
